GPS Used to Enforce Speed Limits

In Ottawa, Canada a group of people are designing a device which will actually enforce the speed limits of the road which you are driving on.

Once installed in your car the device would restrict acceleration once you have reached the speed limit. The GPS receiver combined with a digital 'map' will know exactly what the maximum posted speed is on all roads.

The development of such applications highlights the concern about the dangers of speeding, particularly with young people.
