Computers are any machine that manipulates data
according to the instructions built into a program. They can
range from small to large, and have a seemingly endless number
of uses.
A File Extension is a set of characters
attached to a filename, after the period. These characters
are used to allow the computer, the software, and the user
to figure out what type of data the file represents.
The different files on your computer, or on the Internet,
can be confusing to some people. You never know what you are
looking at, or downloading, if you do not have prior knowledge
of what the file is. Select the first character below of the
file extension you want.

There are a vast array of storage mediums for computers
in use everyday. Some types of storage such as DVD's are meant
to be saved for long periods of time, whereas RAM only stores
data for short periods of time.
