The WHA Junior West Hockey League was
founded in 2006, and is based out of Surrey, British Columbia.
The commissioner of the league is Bobby Hull, and the president
of the league is Rick Smith, both former National
Hockey League players. This hockey league
consists of 5 teams from Canada and 1 team from the United
States. There was originally supposed to be 3 teams from Washington,
USA, but two of them did not get ready in time for the season.
The WHA Junior West Hockey League is a part
of the World Hockey Association. The playoff winner of this
hockey league competes against the winner
of the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League for the Alliance
Cup.
