to the NHL coach who "contributed the
most to his team's success," the Jack Adams Award
is awarded by the NHL Broadcasters' Association. A poll is
taken at the end of the regular season schedule to determine
the winner.
The first year the Jack Adams Award was
presented was in 1974. It was created and awarded in memory
of Jack Adams, a prior coach and GM of the Detroit Red Wings.
