Spear fishing dates back thousands of
years. Either a normal straight spear or a trident were normally
used. You need shallow water to conduct spear fishing properly.
The fisherman would aim at the fish in the water, and stab
or throw the spear at the fish. Archers also used a bow and
arrow to conduct the same type of fishing. Technology has
allowed the development of this type of fishing, in the form
of the spear gun.
